Islington Guest Bedroom
A complete refurbishment for a guest bedroom. The clients’ cherished art defined the design, with a colour palette of soft greens, yellows, and caramel's keeping the room grounded and welcoming. Silver hardware and electrical points were swapped for brass to complement the gold leaf within the painting. The Amalfi yellow zellige fireplace tiles were added , giving a glossy reflection to the gold above.
A mix of task and decorative wall lights and lamps helped add layering. The inherited dark wooden furniture was styled to feel intentional rather than at odds with the room. A study desk was replaced with a contemporary oak design paired with Tom Dixon task lighting, and new bedside tables prevented everything from feeling too heavy and traditional.
A large mirror balanced the low-slung dresser, and the pendant light was purposely kept flush so as not to distract from viewing the painting in the reflection. Roman Blinds in Liberty Fabric in Sahara added the final touch.
